Here’s How We Did It !
Our SSM Traction Bars feature a superior design, made to use the car’s Axle Wrap-Up Torque to plant your rear tires to the pavement – harder than ever before! Putting all HP to work and forcing the rear tires downward with a new FORCE instead of just moving forward and burning rubber. This unique SSM design moves your vehicle lift point towards the middle of your car’s chassis, so your launch works faster on shifting the vehicle’s weight toward the rear of the car.
By changing your “Instant Center” of gravity, this creates much faster takeoffs. Giving you better 60’ft times! SSM Control Arms, Lift Bars and Trailing Arms all use a special “Delrin” bushing material, reducing and eliminating the twisting and binding that happens with rubber and polyurethane bushings. This new found launching force transfers directly to your rear tires on takeoffs, making them plant & hook harder than ever before!
SSM conveniently locates grease fittings on control arms and trailing arms to allow the Delrin bushings to be greased with any synthetic lube without putting your car on a lift in the air. Our bushings also have a proprietary grease flow channel to allow the grease to flow around all the bushing surface areas. Delrin is also much quieter than squeaky polyurethane and it will not distort, crush, or smash in your bars on hard launches. Our traction bars and control arms are made from heavy-duty, boxed steel tubing that Will Not flex, twist or bend to allow your car’s suspension to unload and spin the tires up in smoke, wasting the valuable HP & Torque you have worked so hard to achieve.
SSM control arms/trailing arms all feature a durable black powder-coated finish to protect the bars and resists scratches, chips, rust and corrosion. These bars will work great and look great for a long time under your car, taking on harsh conditions and elements for many years to come. As an added feature, when using both SSM Upper & Lower Control Arms together, you will benefit by having your drive shaft pinion-angle already adjusted slightly downward to the required -2° to -6° degrees. This drive-line symmetry is perfect for hard launches without breaking u-joints.
Finally, all of our SSM products are all easy to install and include step-by-step instructions with pictures and diagrams. Even our young customers with limited mechanical knowledge can install the products correctly. Also, NO WELDING is ever required on any set of our traction bars, lift bars, control arms or trailing arms making them 100% allowed and legally approved in all stock-racing divisions of NHRA, IHRA, NMCA, NMRA and UMTR and other sanctioning bodies.
